Answers to Common Questions

Clear, helpful answers about naturopathic care, appointments, pricing, training, and how we work with you.

What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic Medicine is a whole-person approach to health that emphasizes prevention and natural therapies. We focus on finding and treating the root cause—not just managing symptoms—and support the body’s ability to heal itself across physical, mental, and emotional dimensions.

What is a Naturopathic Doctor?

A Naturopathic Doctor (NMD) is a primary-care clinician trained in standard medical sciences and a broad range of natural therapies. We integrate evidence-informed diagnostics with personalized, conservative treatment plans.

What types of health problems can be treated?

Most chronic concerns and many acute issues can benefit from naturopathic care for patients of all ages.

Common concerns we see include fatigue, frequent colds, digestive issues, blood pressure and cholesterol concerns, blood sugar balance, weight management, mood and sleep issues, PMS and menopause support, and recovery support.

What can I expect—how does it work?

We start with a thorough intake: health history, lifestyle review, and relevant exams or labs. You’ll receive a clear plan focused on your goals, education you can act on, and follow-up to track progress. Expect more time with your provider and a collaborative, root-cause approach.

  • Prevention-first care
  • Personalized plans that fit your life
  • Ongoing review of outcomes and labs
How are naturopathic physicians trained?

Licensed NMDs complete pre-medical coursework, are admitted through a competitive process, and graduate from a four-year, accredited naturopathic medical program with two years of supervised clinical training.

How do naturopathic physicians diagnose and treat?

We use standard diagnostic tools—history, physical exam, labs, and imaging when indicated—interpreted through a whole-person lens to find underlying causes. Natural therapies are first-line, with rational use of pharmaceuticals or referrals when appropriate.

What treatments do you use?

Plans are personalized and may include:

  • Clinical nutrition and lifestyle counseling
  • Botanical medicine and herbal formulas
  • Homeopathy
  • Regenerative injection therapies (PRP/Prolotherapy)
  • IV therapy and targeted nutrient injections
  • Cold laser therapy, therapeutic exercise, infrared sauna
  • Pharmaceuticals when indicated
